Details In 2019 Fender introduced the Alternate Reality Electric XII, a re-engineering of the original Electric XII which was released in 1965. Being a 12-string guitar, it has six pair of strings tuned EADGBE, with the lower four tuned an octave higher. It has the same body and headstock of the original, but with a modern C-shaped neck profile and a 9.5-inch fretboard radius. The split-coil pickups are newly designed, with a 3-position switch instead of the more complicated rotary switch of the original.1 Noel has played various acoustic 12-string during the years but he's never played an electric 12-string live. The only available picture of Noel playing this guitar was posted by Fender on social media in September 2019.
